Like climbing a hill, the downside of our temple mission in Guatemala will go faster  and easier  than in the first 9 months.  We know the  Spanish ordinance words of the  temple and can  say them as  fast as we want  (fast, however, is  not done).  Our personal conversations in  Spanish, in contrast,  are still slow and  simple,  but we usually  can get  our messages  across.  We have seen  various parts of  Guatemala and  have others we  will experience.  We’ve learned to cook meals  with the foods we  have here. Many items are not  available here.  We are comfortable with the people. We love the climate. President John Norman read the on-line Church News to learn who his successor would be. May 1 was a holiday for all Guatemalan workers, except for temple workers. Larry Jenson worked 9 hours, starting at 4:30 am. This was the most he worked in one day at the temple. Was Larry upset? Not in the least. It was a wonderful, memorable experience.  Yhy Temple couple departs Temple missionaries Jennifer and Silbert  Gordon went home to Belize City two weeks  early because thieves broke into  Silbert’s  workshop and took several tools. They also  attempted to get into their green painted home,  which had  been occupied by a daughter over  the past  year.  The Gordons, serving for a year, were  the first, and only, Belize members to serve  missions for the temple that includes that  country.
