Oct. 2-8, 2017 - Central Market, Hamburgers, Prayer Phrases, Sewing, Clean Streets, Tree Leaves, Break the Fast, Wifi Out
Week 7 ... Oct 2-8, 2017
On Monday, we went DOWNtown Guatemala and then DOWN into an underground labyrinth of honeycombed little shops making up Central Market. It was mostly handicrafts and fresh produce. It almost was claustrophobic to me. But, it was interesting.
After shopping, we found a hamburger joint and had lunch...
I’m improving the prayer I give in one of the ordinances at the temple. Elder Winkfield wrote out several phrases in Spanish that I could select and put together as I desire. Then I will memorize them, like I have memorized all the formal ordinance verbiage.
Babette was wishing she had her sewing machines with her in Guatemala, so she could do some fun creative work when she wasn’t working in the temple. So the temple leadership gave her a sewing machine and a serger! The catch is that she also will be doing non-creative clothing repairs, in her spare time ..
The streets are clean in our zone 15 of Guatemala City....
Break the Fast
On Sunday, we piled into a van and went downtown to meet with other senior missionaries from North America....
Babette contributed a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. Mmmmm!
I love your blog. Love the photos and the interesting way you put things together.
ReplyDeleteThings are pretty much the same here in cow town!!! No marriages, births or deaths
Our FHE group has shrunken down
to 4 couples and I have asked several to join us. We even met at Poteets new house last week. We are going with the other groups to a mosque next week
I’m enjoying your blog, so many interesting things! Glad Mom has a sewing machine to use and keep busy with. Happy Thanksgiving Mom and Dad! Miss you lots.
ReplyDeleteBabette's hair looks good. I'm glad you have a serger and a sewing machine, even if they are not the best brand.
