Nov. 13-19, 2017 - Dresses altered, Temple Drawn, Restaurant, Devotional

The Temple Matron relieved Babette from having to do
the final seven dresses.

We had direct sunlight one day this week. Larry saw
his shadow! That means 15 more months of Spring for him and Babette.

From Temple Pres. Norman’s blog...
“On Thursday Nov. 10 President Rosales called and said that one of the buses with members from the Polochic was stopped and prohibited from coming into the city because it did not have the right papers.  So he drove the temple van, Brother Abadillo drove the MTC van and I drove our van and we went and got the people and brought them to the temple.”

We made a map to mark our travels
Larry wanted a big map of Guatemala on our wall. He tried several stores to buy one, without success. So he made one himself.

Keep fit

Fellow temple missionary Bryce Holman walks/runs
almost everyday to keep in shape. Larry needs to follow him,
just like he did in Argentina 48 years ago when he was his
zone leader.

Speaking of the Holmans, we went with them to an Italian restaurant just a 5 minute walk away. It was classy and affordable....

Pres. Norman’s talk was about how the temple helps ordinance workers develop Christ-like qualities. He said (in Spanish) something to the effect that “The Spirit in the temple changes us little by little and smoothes out our rough edges.  As we love the patrons that come to the temple and treat them with kindness, we become more and more like our Savior, in whose house we serve. Through this process, we become worthy of the ‘exceeding great and precious promises’ and partakers of the divine nature.”
We didn’t understand much of Pres. Rosales talk. He talks fast and the microphone was somewhat muted. Larry said there were people talking in the hall just outside the door he was sitting by. This also made it hard to hear the speakers.
This was the final devotional for the Normans and Rosales. They will leave their posts at the temple before a year is complete.
