That’s all I ate at the regional get-together on Sunday with other seniors missionaries. I usually eat 10 times this much. But I only had a tiny slit to poke food into through my teeth and it hurt to chew.

Missionary dentist Richard Jergensen was going to fill a cavity in one of Larry’s molars today, but, upon examination, decided that the tissue next to it was too tender where he had extracted a molar three weeks earlier. The dental work was rescheduled for mid-January.

What are farm animals doing in the city? Aren’t there laws against that? The taxi driver told Larry this was a common sight. People prize the nutritional value of their milk.

Uh oh... complication!
Larry’s jaw swelled shut and it became painful to eat and swallow. What happened to him at the dental clinic? It was Friday and the clinic was closed, so Dr. Jergensen wouldn’t be getting Larry’s message. Missionary Dr. Robert Frampton prescribed penicillin for the obvious infection.
Larry came home early from the temple on Friday and skipped working his Saturday shift. Despite taking painkillers, pain was ever present, at one level or another.

Welcome to Canadian citizenship (jury duty). They sent me one a few years ago and I'm not even a citizen.
ReplyDeleteI found McDonald's expensive when I was in Brazil (same prices as home but our allowance was low due to a very low cost of living). Do you find the same in Guatemala?
