July 11-15, 2018 Angel Moroni, wooden fruit, The Zoo
Guatemala City Temple maintenance continues 🌋
Now for the rest of our fun
activities during Week #2
of our vacation...
The Holmans had a strong desire to visit a
little workshop in a town named Jocotenango,
before the end of our two weeks of vacation.
They invited us Jensons to go along with them.
This entailed their finding someone to drive us
for an hour and a half. Larry was quite clueless where we were going and why.
In this workshop a man carved fruits 🍎 🍌 🍉 out of wood.
Larry finally perked up and decided he and Babette should also
have a wooden fruit display on OUR table. It cost us the equivalent
of $60 Canadian. Larry thought it was a steal. 😁
Woody Woodpecker’s mouth is watering.
We visited a jade jewelry manufacturing
shop in the town of Antigua, while we
were in the area. Babette bought some
earrings.
The next day we went to the
only zoo in Guatemala City,
which they named Aurora.
First, we see a few of the birds
Aurora had for our viewing...
Ha ha I love it. You even got to see a real live willoughby!
ReplyDeleteDid the willoughby have a baby? you know, a Joey Willoughby?
ReplyDeleteWow! You have seen it all now! A Willoughby!!!! Gotta love that!
ReplyDeleteThings have been pretty much as usual - not able to trust the weather. It can be so hot one minute and then freezing the next (so it seems). The other day Lacombe got a hail storm that would have caused major damage to gardens, for sure. So sad!
Excitement reigns high in our (well, where I live) house right now -- 5 more sleeps before Coral gets home. Her mission went by so very quickly.
Once she gets home, things really speed up though -- Dallin leaves in September, Thomas comes home in October, Spencer in February and his grandparents as well. Who is going to arrive home first?
It is past my bedtime, so must run along. You two have a great and wonderful evening/day - not sure what it is for you. :)
