Sept 10-23, 2018 Church history in Guatemala
😁 Thanks to Debbie Spencer who carried the iPad to me from her daughter’s home
At the same Family home evening, the Andersons
John Norman
Nice things said about our
departing Temple President
Guatemala City Temple President John Norman attended his final Coordinating Council Meeting in the Coban region (usually a 5-hour drive). Area Seventy Arredondo said he believed that Pres. Norman had been called to serve in the Guatemala City Temple at this time to help the Coban area prepare to someday have their own temple. He then asked if anyone else would like to say anything. Many of the stake and district presidents expressed their thanks for the Normans’ service. They made Pres. Norman cry as they said explained how his service had impacted their units and how individually they had been influenced for good by his, and his wife’s, service. President Cuz, from Senahu, said that they had made the people of the Polochic feel valued and welcomed in the temple. He said that most of the time they feel abandoned and isolated, but the Normans’ many trips to visit them in their hard-to-get-to towns have made them feel accepted and appreciated. He said the people of the Polochic will never forget the Normans. At the end of October, the Normans will complete their 3-year stay in Guatemala.. They return to Bountiful, Utah.
Thanks for sharing the history of the Church in Guatemala, Larry. I suppose he spoke in Spanish so your review was probably more meaningful to me. Also, I sensed the same things about the Normans and Senahu, especially. I am grateful that we were able to go there and be touched by those people.
